-CARS Tour LMSC Points Leader Prepared As Possible for Saturday’s Hickory Showdown-

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 29, 2015) – Myatt Snider heads into Saturday’s 2015 CARS Tour finale at Hickory Motor Speedway with a slim three-point lead in the Late Model Stock Car division’s point standings. The hard-charging 20-year-old driver says he is ready for the biggest challenge of his young career in the Liberty University 300 presented by SNMP.

“We’re heading in there with a ton of confidence because we know we’re as prepared as possible,” said Snider, a junior at Belmont Abbey College. “Our plan is to continue doing what we have done all year – give it our absolute best effort, practice patience and race as smart as we can. If we can execute to the level we have in all the nine other races so far this season, we’ll have a great opportunity to win the race and wrap up the championship.”

While most of the CARS Tour regulars were back at their shops last weekend counting down the days until the finale, Snider and his Jeff Caudill-led team could be found at Hickory participating in the Fall Brawl. Although they didn’t start the 200-lap feature for the NASCAR Whelen Series, Snider says the trip was well worthwhile.

“I think it definitely has added to our confidence level for this weekend,” said Snider. “Until going there last weekend, it was kinda up in the air as to which car we would be racing in the CARS Tour race. All the track time we were able to get allowed us to make a solid decision. We had a really strong race car.

“We had our coilover car there last week and that’s the car we’ll be racing on Saturday. We really didn’t perform all that well in the first Hickory race (started sixth and finished seventh in the May 9 Catawba Valley 250) with our other car and we’re confident we’ll have our best shot with this one. Hickory is a low-grip track and we’re convinced that this car is the way to go.”

Heading into the 150-lap battle on the demanding little 0.363-mile bullring, Snider is atop the LMSC standings with 255 points. Deac McCaskill and Brayton Haws are tied for the second spot with 252 points each. Tommy Lemons is fourth with 224 points and Tyler Ankrum is a distant fifth with 206.

As far as consistency goes in the nine races leading up to Saturday’s showdown at Hickory, Snider has been amazing. Although winless thus far, he is the only competitor to finish in the top 10 in all the races and complete all possible (1,100 of 1,100 = 100%) laps. Snider’s remarkable season statistics boasts five top-five finishes, nine top-10s and one pole position. He has an impressive 6.2 average start and a 5.1 average finish.

Snider finished a strong third in the March 28 season-opening battle for the CARS Tour at Southern National. He has been considered a championship threat ever since during the series’ inaugural season. Snider has displayed exemplary poise week in and week out competing against drivers with many more years of experience. Snider finally took the points lead in the eighth race of the season when he started on the pole and finished second at Concord Speedway on August 29.

“We’ve been in the hunt all season long and have been able to ride our consistency to the top,” said Snider, son of veteran NBC-TV Sports broadcaster Marty Snider. “It’s cool to have the points’ lead heading into the final race of the year and we’re ready for the challenge.”

Snider’s No. 2 NASCAR America Chevy will carry the same special color scheme this weekend that the team ran during the recent ValleyStar Credit Union 300 weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The color scheme has a “retro 80s” look that pays tribute to folks the racing community has lost recently.

The Mooresville, N.C.-based CARS Tour is the first series of its kind to host two premier divisions running on the same track as part of the same event. Saturday’s action will feature races for both the CARS Late Model Stock Car and CARS Super Late Model divisions.

This weekend’s CARS Tour schedule at Hickory opens with Friday’s open testing from 1:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s schedule sees alternating practice sessions beginning at 12:30 p.m. Qualifying is set for 4:30 p.m. The Late Model Stock Car 150-lapper is scheduled to get the green flag at 7:30 p.m., followed by the 150-lap feature for the Super Late Model division. Grandstand admission for the incredible night of racing is only $20. Youth tickets (ages 7-12) are $10 each and children 6 & under are admitted free of charge.

Speed51.com will provide “Trackside Now” live updates for Saturday’s event, while Race22.com will offer live Twitter feeds. RACEFEEDX (www.racefeedx.com) is offering live pay-per-view video coverage for $18 with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
